Next Club Meeting

Our next monthly meeting will be on Monday, November 9th at The Eagles Club in Lake Hallie. We will start at 7:00 pm and will be in the basement where we had our September meeting.

Upcoming Ride this Weekend!

If you haven't already made plans for the Toys for Tots charity ATV ride in Cable this coming weekend, you still have time to do so. The rooms in the main lodge at the Lakewoods Resort are full but there are cottages, condos and a few rooms at the outboard lodge if you would like to stay over. You can still come up for the ride on Saturday and there are other lodging options as well. Call the Lakewoods people at 1-800-930-6657 or visit their website at http://www.lakewoodsresort.com/ for more information. Remember, a donation of an unwrapped new toy valued at $10 will get you on the ride. Let's have a good showing from our club! There will be a lot of other clubs in attendance so it will be a great opportunity to socialize with like-minded club members.

October Meeting Highlights!

1. The meeting was held at Zachos Sports Center in Lake Hallie. A nicely-decorated UTV was set up by the main entrance to hold Toys for Tots donations. This display will be there until at least after the TFT ride at Lakewoods so stop by and drop off a donation if you can.  Zachos set up an area with a table and chairs where we held our normal meeting followed by a short and informative maintenance seminar and Q&A session. Attendees were then able to shop for some special deals on accessories and service. It was a great experience and will probably be repeated sometime in the future. Thanks again to Zachos for their hospitality and the snacks were a wonderful bonus as well!

2. If you have pictures from club trail rides or events, please forward them to Bobbie S. at star@chippewavalleyatvers.4t.com . You can also bring them to the next meeting.

3.  Club rides for October, November and into next year were discussed. Jeff K. sent out a great Email summary of where and when club members can get together and ride. I will include a hardcopy with this newsletter to those of you who receive the newsletter that way. Remember that the club phone number will have this information as well.

4. Club merchandise, including the new license plate and sticker, was again available for sale. The details can be found on the website or at the monthly meetings.

5. The plans for our annual Holiday Party were discussed. At this time, the location will be at the Fill-Inn Station in Chippewa Falls on Monday, January 11, 2010. Patti K. volunteered to coordinate the plans this year. Like last year, there will be a $5 non-refundable deposit per person for those members and their families who would like to attend. These deposits are due by the December 14th meeting.  Bobbie S. has graciously volunteered for set up a slide show of pictures taken on rides during the previous year. If you have pictures that you have taken on any of the rides or club events, please contact Bobbie to set up a way to get them incorporated into her show.

6. Bobbie S. has posted on the Club website details for the upcoming ride in Cable, WI on November 7th. This ride will benefit the Toys for Tots charity and looks to be a lot of fun.

7. The ride from Black River Falls to Pray on October 10th was well attended. We had 10 machines with 13 riders. The weather was cool but sunny (ideal riding in my opinion) and lunch in Pray was great. There was one technical difficulty but it had a happy ending due in part to the kindness of strangers. All in all it was a great ride and thanks to Fred A. for helping to set it up and leading the ride.

8. For those who receive this newsletter by email, you may have received a notice about a WATVA/NOHVIS meeting/training scheduled for Saturday, November 7th in Rice Lake at Lehmans Supper Club. http://www.lehmanssupperclub.net/

The morning will be set aside for a Trail Patrol Refresher course to sharpen up those TPA skills and talents; also bring your questions or concerns. The Trail Patrol Refresher course is for existing certified TPA's only. Stephanie K. can be contacted for additional details.

9. There was an idea brought up as to the location and venue of our December meeting. Jeff K. proposed that, weather-permitting, we hold the meeting out at Don Schmit's place. There is room for a short meeting around a bonfire with roasted marshmallows and hot chocolate. Attendees who are so inclined could then head out on a short ride on Don's property. This will be discussed at the November 9th meeting but I wanted to bring it up now so people could think about it.
