February News Letter
Next Club Meeting
Our next meeting will be on Monday, March 8th at 7:00 pm. We will be meeting in the basement of the Eagle's Club in Lake Hallie. We will be voting for new positions of President, Secretary, Trail Boss and two Board of Directors members. If you would like to nominate yourself or someone else, please contact Dennis Stubbe by phone, email or in person and he will get them on the ballot. The deadline for nominations will be Friday, March 5th. If you want to vote, please plan on attending the meeting. Also, the annual club memberships are due now so please keep that in mind. The new membership rates are $15 for a Single and $20 for a Family. You can pay for your membership at the March meeting or you can mail your check to the club's PO Box. The deadline for nominations is Friday, March 5th.
NOTICE: There will be a short Board of Directors meeting at 6:30 pm just prior to the March club meeting at the Eagles Club. The regular Annual meeting will be prior to the April monthly meeting.
February Meeting Highlights
1. There were additional discussions about the Christmas party. Everyone thanked Patti K. for making virtually all of the arrangements. The food was good and positive comments were made about the slide show that Bobbie S. put together.
2. If you have pictures from club trail rides or events, please forward them to Bobbie S. at star@chippewavalleyatvers.4t.com . You can also bring them to the next meeting. Bobbie also mentioned that the club has a presence on Facebook where additional photos can be viewed. Check the website for a link.
3. The members in attendance voted to allow Bobbie to purchase an external hard drive for club use to archive club pictures for a longer time period than is currently possible.
4. Club merchandise, including the new license plate and sticker are available for sale. We need to look into getting some more club flags to be used at Country Fest and for anyone who doesn't have one yet. Does anyone wish to purchase an embroidered jacket or sweatshirt? I have one inquiry but the vendor requires orders in groups of four(4). We would need to come up with a smaller logo if we were to get children's sizes. More investigation to follow.
5. Paul K. reported that there may be additional ATV routes opening up soon depending upon a County Board Supervisors vote in February. If the measure passes, county clubs will have to pay for the signs and the installation of those signs. We should find out soon what the final outcome is and what we may be asked to contribute to the cause.
6. Further comments were made about the ride on January 16th at Wild Rock Campground. It sounds like those in attendance had a great time and the food was wonderful as well.
7. Last minute details were discussed pertaining to the February 20th annual Peterson/Stubbe family sledding, snowmobiling and ATV ridding party on the Peterson and Stubbe properties. The weather looks to be great and it should be a fun time as always.
8. A couple of riding opportunities for February and March were discussed: A Sweethearts ride from Osseo to Mondovi and back; A 10:00am Presidents Day ride down at Rock Dam which would depart from the County GG parking lot: the S.W.O.R.D.S. poker run in Solon Springs on February 27th and on March 20th; either a ride on the Wild River trail leaving from Rice Lake OR a tour of Polaris’s manufacturing facility in Osceola. Dates and times for March rides will be firmed up at the next few meetings
9. Stephanie brought up a possible date for the next Scavenger hunt at Don Schmit's place. It will be Saturday, May 15th. We should think about a day prior to that for cleanup at Don's.
